Burteck is founded
Founded by Peter Burgess in 2010, the mold making operation that began in a 3,000 square foot facility would soon employ over a dozen people. Within just three years they would increase their capacity by over 30% and outgrow their first facility, building a new space over five times larger than where they started.
This Mikron HSM 500 LPM high-speed VMCs from GF Machining Solutions was among the first of Burteck’s workhorse machining equipment.
Move to Windsor, CT
Burteck constructs a new 16,000-square-foot, fully outfitted moldmaking facility in Windsor, Connecticut. Burteck now provides gainful employment for 18 people, including eight seasoned toolmakers.
Features that can’t be milled even with the shop’s sophisticated high-speed machinery can now be burned with Burteck’s sinker EDMS, such as the AgieCharmilles models from GF Machining Solutions shown here.
Branching into LSR tooling
Burteck LLC is getting ready to break into liquid silicone rubber. Burteck LLC’s LSR projects have all been with existing customers, but the firm used NPE2018 to launch LSR as an official offering.
Moving to Bloomfield
Burteck outgrows its old space of 16,000 sf in Windsor, CT and will be moving into its new manufacturing space of 40,000 sf in Bloomfield, CT. The new location offers us space we need to add capacity and additional space for our value-added services we offer to our customers.
Adding capacity
The newest addition to our production floor: a state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC High Speed Machining Center with integrated robotic automation. Installed, calibrated, and ready to work, this machine expands our capacity for complex, high-precision mold components—especially in industries where accuracy and repeatability are critical. From medical and automotive to high-performance consumer products, this upgrade allows us to push tighter tolerances, reduce lead times, and deliver even more consistent quality at scale.
New growth & opportunities
Burteck is growing faster than ever! We’re hiring in every department. Over the last few years we’ve added several new CNC machines including the 10 axis turning center. We currently employ 30+ people, but are actively expanding our workforce to accommodate our rapidly growing demand for tooling!
